About AeroMet´s Smoke School
Smoke School Lecture CD. Conventional smoke schools typically have an all-day classroom lecture prior to conducting the field certification event. AeroMet is the first and only company to eliminate the all-day lecture by providing the required training on an interactive CD that is viewable on most standard computers. At your request, the lecture CD is provided in advance of the field training event and can be viewed at your own pace when your time allows. This cost effective way of securing the necessary training eliminates the hidden costs and lost productivity associated with the more conventional two-day smoke school. Smoke School Q&A Session. AeroMet offers a question and answer session prior to each field training event. This allows trainees to ask specific questions about the lecture CD or visible emissions observations.
½ Day Field Training. AeroMet personnel not only operate the smoke generators, they build them. This hands-on approach keeps mechanical problems to a minimum, resulting in little if any downtime during a training event. In addition, because we monitor our emissions with a computer, we are able to maintain precise opacity values during testing. This makes testing easier and more reliable for our trainees, as reflected in our >85% pass rate on the initial certification test. Typically, field certifications are completed for everyone in attendance in less than two hours. Don´t get the idea our smoke school program is easy. It conforms to all USEPA Method 9 testing requirements, but we have taken the guesswork out of the certification process and made it more of an accurate science.
AeroMet's Smoke School Credibility. AeroMet personnel have been conducting smoke school for over 20 years. All of our smoke schools are conducted in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Our trainees, ranging from industry to regulatory personnel, are highly respected for their opacity reading accuracy and knowledge.
Cost. Our rates for smoke school are the lowest in the country. Because our experience has enabled us to develop an efficient and innovative program, we are able to maintain low costs that remain profitable for us and cost-effective for our clients. Our rate for field certification is $165/person. Our lecture CD is $35/copy with a paid field registration and $70/copy without.
AeroMet's Private Smoke Schools. AeroMet will gladly make arrangements to arrive directly at your facility and conduct a smoke school session exclusively for your employees. What To Bring. Black or blue ink pens, a clipboard, protective cover for the testing form in the event of precipitation, a lawn chair and weather appropriate clothing.
Weather Policy. AeroMet will run in virtually all types of weather conditions except for those which are unsafe for our clients or significantly reduce background visibility. Cancellation Policy.If you have registered for a public training event and are unable to attend, you may attend another training session during the season for no extra charge. If you are unable to attend, but would like to substitute another person from your company, you may do so at no extra charge.
