It is also recommended that you attend our First Time Opacity Observer Orientation which starts at 7:30 A.M. at each Mason City public smoke school.

IMPORTANT:  Iowa DNR requires that all smoke school attendees observe 500 opacity readings as part of their initial certification.  This is a one-time only requirement.  Aeromet performs the 500 observations for initial certification at the Des Moines public smoke school.  There is no additional charge for this service.  Please call Aeromet with any questions regarding this Iowa-specific requirement.
