AeroMet’s Mason City, IA smoke school meets Federal (EPA) and Iowa state smoke school requirements. Upon completion, you will be certified to conduct EPA Method 9 (visible emissions) observations.

Lecture Requirement: You should complete AeroMet’s online lecture program before attending the field certification event. Detailed information about the lecture can be found on our on-line lecture page. 

Field Certification Requirement: Iowa DNR requires that all smoke school attendees observe 500 opacity readings to receive their initial EPA Method 9 certification. This is a one-time requirement. AeroMet performs this service at the Des Moines public smoke school at no additional charge. Please call AeroMet with any questions regarding this requirement.
